After I designed Pee Wee's Playhouse I was approached by many interesting people and projects. Most big projects never get past the developmental stage; one of the nicest that did make it into reality was the Playroom at the Paramount Hotel in Manhattan, a small room where the hotel provided baby sitting service. I designed and oversaw the construction of the sculptural elements and did all of the decorative painting. I think the kids loved being inside a toy-like environment. The room somehow had a very comforting aspect.
