JOSHUA WHITE AND GARY PANTER'S LIGHT SHOW

This time next week Joshua White and I will be doing our new improved light show, as you can see on the NEWS section of this site. Four days of shows at the Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan at the corner of 2nd Street and 2nd Avenue. July 15,16,17,18.

With special guest musicians and guest light show artists!!!
Guaranteed to blow your mind clean off!

Joshua and I have been talking and planning for two years and accumulating equipment and storing it in my garage. When we got this date with the Anthology we set up shop in my living room and in the dining room and some really neat light shows have been happening in there. Joshua is directing our operation, since he is a director. He is building powerful light sources, light sabres, motorized color wheel mounts, restoring the giant overhead projector and the little overhead and redeveloping the colored oils for the liquid lights, wiring the whole operation, etc. I have been doing all the new color wheels and giant stencils and twisted mirror variations and mobiles etc. Stuff that bends light and shadows light.

Our friend Fay Ryu has been working on a pre-recorded sound collage that will serve as the basic soundtrack of the show. Our friend Paul Lacotta has been making a lot of custom rubber lenses for us. Helene and Olive have been contributing a lot as the lightshow project has taken over the house, and by getting the word out. Our cats have contributed by being locked out of the ground floor for the duration, so that they don't make unwanted contributions to the enterprise.

Fay's soundtrack will be accompanied by many musician friends, including artist and musician Devin Flynn and Adam Autry of PLATE TECTONICS; Ara Peterson, formerly of FORCE FIELD; Alan Licht, renown guitarist, composer and writer; Edwin Pouncey, famous English cartoonist, writer, and musician of the ART ATTACKS, and more recently of ATTACKWAVE PESTRELLER; Jay Cotton, cartoonist, and composer of PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE and PINK DONKEY scores and last but not least, YO LA TENGO for two shows. This is going to be swell!!!

Such a load of inspired twisted genius's are descending on my house that I feel sure we have a shot at levitating the Pentagon.
